President Lee Jae-myung, who returned after the Korea-U.S. summit, visited a small and medium-sized manufacturing company. He is ramping up efforts in the economy with a focus on people's livelihoods, visiting drought sites and holding discussions on growth strategies.
On the morning of the 3rd, President Lee visited Saesol Diamond Industrial in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, and presided over the "K-Manufacturing Corporations Field Meeting." Saesol Diamond Industrial manufactures components used in pads that flatten the surface of wafers, the primary material for semiconductors. It is a promising small and medium-sized enterprise sought after by global companies including Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, Intel, and TSMC.
At the meeting, government officials included Ha Joon-kyung, Chief Economic Advisor to the Presidential Office, Minister of Economy and Finance Ko Yoon-cheol, Minister of Science and ICT Bae Kyung-hun, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jeong-kwan, and Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups Han Seong-suk. From the corporations, attendees included Hwang Dong-geun, CEO of Hankuk LFP, Koo Bon-saeng, CEO of CanSTIEN, Yoo Hwan-kyu, CEO of H&Lruza, Lee Sang-gu, CEO of Iblephoto Nix, Jeong Seo-jin, CEO of Hwashin, Choi Su-an, CEO of L&F, Lee O-seon, CEO of Donga Plating, Jo Mun-soo, CEO of Hankuk Carbon, Park Seok-won, CEO of Techros, Ryu Jae-wan, CEO of SBB TECH, Lim Il-ji, CEO of Daejoo Electronic Materials, and Maeng Joo-ho, CEO of Saesol Diamond Industrial.
President Lee said, "I can succinctly state that the biggest challenge for our country is recovery and growth," adding that the government is working hard to support small and medium-sized corporations, which play a significant role in employment, to ensure that the manufacturing sector can grow and develop.
He continued, "We need to create opportunities through continuous growth so that our citizens can lead better lives through those opportunities," and said, "Since many policy-making ministers are present today, let's make efforts to create more jobs and new opportunities by sharing our opinions."
