Kim Jong-un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, departed for Beijing, China, on a private train on the 1st, according to North Korean sources. The train carrying Kim Jong-un is expected to cross the North Korea-China border that night and arrive in Beijing on the 2nd.
Kim Jong-un is scheduled to attend the 80th anniversary event of the 'Victory Day' in Beijing on the 3rd at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. This marks Kim Jong-un's first visit to China in 6 years and 8 months.
The Chinese government announced that leaders from 26 countries, including Kim Jong-un, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Vietnamese President Vo Van Thong, and Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, will attend the upcoming Victory Day event.
Yuri Ushakov, foreign policy advisor to the Kremlin, noted on the 30th of last month (local time) that "President Putin will attend the parade as a 'guest of honor' and will sit to the right of President Xi, while the Commissioner will sit to the left of President Xi."
