On that day, former leader Han posted on his Facebook, "I voted. Please quietly show the power of common sense." Given that it was the day voting began for the convention, it is interpreted as an intention to indirectly support the innovative candidates, who showed weaknesses in opinion polls.
Candidate Ahn stated on his Facebook, "Now our party needs 'the common sense of ordinary people.' That is how we can stop Lee Jae-myung's absurdity from the Democratic Party." He further emphasized, "The way for the People Power Party to regain the love of the public and win in next year's local elections is 'the restoration of common sense.'"
Candidate Jo said on his Facebook on the 18th, "I dreamed of a world where fairness and common sense flowed like water. But now that dream has completely vanished," adding, "If we cling to the past, it leads to division, and if we move toward the future, we become one."
Former leader Han has continuously supported innovative candidates like Ahn and Jo. On the 16th, he also said, "If we continue like this, the People Power Party will be abandoned by the people. The solidarity and sacrifice of sensible candidates can ignite the spark of hope."
Former leader Han has also continued his criticisms of anti-impeachment candidates. He appealed on Facebook on the 5th, "Please choose representatives and supreme council members who can overcome the planned sinking of 'Yoon Again' and the conspiracy theories of election fraud, and can confidently and competently manage renewal, reform, and checks on the Lee Jae-myung regime."
Candidate Ahn and former leader Han met twice in the context of the convention. Former leader Han is said to have discussed 'the party's rightward shift' when he met candidate Ahn on the 19th of last month. Afterwards, the two met on the 11th at the inauguration ceremony for the People Power Party's Jeonnam Provincial Party chairman held in Gwangju, where they emphasized the need for internal innovation.
Representative Han Ji-ah of the People Power Party, a prominent supporter of Han Dong-hoon, has offered support for candidate Jo. On that day, Representative Han posted a photo taken with candidate Jo along with the text "the power of common sense" on her Facebook.
