The election for the youth supreme committee of the People Power Party will be held as a three-way contest.
Candidate Choi Woo-sung, who is running in the youth supreme committee election of the People Power Party scheduled for the 22nd, declared a unification with candidate Woo Jae-jun and resigned on the 17th.
On the same day, candidate Choi held a press conference with candidate Woo at the People Power Party's headquarters and stated, 'The person who attacks the Democratic Party well is Rep. Woo, so I resign and support him.'
Candidate Choi earlier caused controversy with remarks such as, 'I will station the armed forces in Russia's Primorye,' and 'First Lady Kim Keon-hee is indeed a spy,' during a joint speech meeting of the People Power Party on the 13th. Candidate Choi is reportedly subject to a warning measure from the election commission afterward.
Candidate Woo noted, 'While there are somewhat rough aspects to candidate Choi's actions, we must overcome small differences and unite through sacrifice.' He also urged unification among candidates Ahn Cheol-soo and Jo Kyung-tae, who are also part of the 'pro-Yoon Suk-yeol impeachment' faction.
With candidate Choi's resignation, the remaining candidates for the youth supreme committee of the People Power Party are Park Hong-jun, Son Soo-jo, and Woo Jae-jun.
