That morning, President Lee, along with his wife Kim Hye-kyung, watched the movie 'Independence Army: The Ongoing War' with over 120 citizens in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation. The market visit took place after the movie screening. Eunpyeong District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung and Democratic Party of Korea lawmakers Park Ju-min and Kim Woo-young also accompanied him.
President Lee visited a lingerie store to ask about the effects of the consumption coupons, and a merchant who has been doing business at the market for 50 years said, 'The effect of the consumption coupons is quite good.'
President Lee also personally purchased sundae, tteokbokki, fried foods, and rice cakes to share and eat with Kim Hye-kyung and officials from the Presidential Office.
President Lee remarked, 'My wife used all of my coupons at Incheon Gyeyangsansijang' and added, 'I'm glad the market is thriving thanks to the consumption coupons; the nation's economy thrives when small business owners and self-employed individuals do well.'
