A poll released on the 15th ahead of the People Power Party's national convention scheduled for the 22nd shows that among the candidates for party leader, support for Kim Moon-soo is the highest among the party's supporters and the undecided voters.
In a public opinion survey conducted by the Korea Gallup from the 12th to the 14th with 1,007 people aged 18 and older nationwide, the question asked was, 'Who do you think would be the best to become the leader of the People Power Party'? The results showed support for the candidates in the following order: Jo Kyung-tae (22%), Kim Moon-soo (21%), Ahn Cheol-soo (18%), and Jang Dong-hyuk (9%).
The People Power Party will reflect 50% of the votes from the 765,773 party members who are responsible members and have paid party dues at least once within the past year, and 50% from general public opinion surveys. The general opinion survey will only include responses from the People Power Party supporters and undecided voters who do not support any particular party.
As a result of separate aggregations of the People Power Party supporters and undecided voters, Kim Moon-soo's support among the four party leader candidates was the highest at 31%. Ahn Cheol-soo and Jang Dong-hyuk were tied for second place with 14% each, while Jo Kyung-tae was in fourth place with 8%.
This survey was carried out using randomly extracted virtual numbers provided by the three mobile carriers through a telephone interview method (CATI), with a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
