People Power Party floor leader Choo Kyung-ho claimed on the 14th that he moved the meeting location from the party's office to the National Assembly after a call with former President Yoon Suk-yeol on the day of the emergency declaration on December 3rd last year. He refuted allegations that he obstructed the vote for the assembly's lifting of the martial law by gathering lawmakers at the party's office instead of the National Assembly.
On that day, Choo said on Facebook, "I am revealing the decisive evidence from the day of the martial law declaration. I had a single call with former President Yoon at the People Power Party's central office from 11:22:41 p.m. for 2 minutes and 5 seconds right after the martial law was declared," adding, "This is all there is to the call with former President Yoon on the day of the martial law. This was confirmed through investigations by the National Investigation Headquarters."
He also stated, "After finishing the currency, I announced the change of the meeting location from 'People Power Party's office' to 'National Assembly' around 11:33 p.m., not even 10 minutes later."
Choo remarked, "If I had conspired with the president during the currency and intended to gather lawmakers at the party's office to obstruct the vote, I should not have changed the meeting location to the National Assembly and should have remained at the party's office without moving to the National Assembly. However, I did not do that."
He continued, "This is the key evidence proving that the Democratic Party's framing is false," adding, "The Democratic Party should apologize to the public for its false media play and take responsibility."
Choo stated, "This morning, I will pursue strict legal actions against Park Kyun-taek, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, who spread false information on the radio."
