Chairperson Song Eon-seok of the People Power Party noted on the 13th that the special investigation team led by Min Joong-ki, investigating allegations related to Kim Keon-hee, executed a search warrant at the central party office in Yeouido, Seoul, stating, "It is unprecedented and a monstrous oppression from the opposition party to search the central office, which is the heart of the party."
Chairperson Song said during a joint speech at the Chungcheong-Honam joint meeting held at Paichai University in Daejeon on the same day, "The Lee Jae-myung regime, facing a political crisis due to the pardon of immoral people like Cho Kuk, Yoon Mi-hyang, and Choi Kang-wook, resorted to a search by the special investigation team, its regime's lapdog, to turn the situation around."
He added, "Although it was clear that the party convention, which is a festival for members of the first opposition party, was in progress, a search was conducted while all party members gathered at the joint speech venue," emphasizing, "This act is like the 'Yongpali Incident' that obstructed the opposition party's convention."
The special investigation team regarding Kim Keon-hee launched a search at the People Power Party's central office this morning to secure materials related to allegations of solicitation connected to the fortune teller. In particular, it is reported that the special investigation team aimed to secure the list of party members during this search.
Chairperson Song also stated, "Even if the special investigation team intervenes, we will hold the party convention proceedings with dignity and composure," and added, "I hope the Lee Jae-myung regime firmly remembers that it can never suppress the opposition party violently."
He said, "The party member list is the most crucial part of a political party, and it is the beginning and end of the party," and noted, "The fact that they came to supposedly rummage through the party member list clearly appears to be oppression against the opposition party. We have no choice but to fight back strongly through all possible means."
