The Fair Trade Commission selected Maeil Dairies as the best corporation in its evaluation of fair trade agreements in the agency sector last year. Maeil Dairies has maintained its top rating for five consecutive years since the evaluation began in 2020.
On the 11th, the Fair Trade Commission held a committee meeting to review and finalize the results of the 2024 fair trade agreement evaluation. This evaluation was conducted for 13 suppliers, comprehensively assessing contract fairness with agencies, efforts to prevent legal violations, support for win-win cooperation, penalties for legal violations, and agency satisfaction.
According to the evaluation results, Maeil Dairies was the only corporation to receive the highest rating. The Fair Trade Commission explained that Maeil Dairies scored high for establishing systems for fair contract execution and preventing legal violations in advance, expanding agency sales through supply price reductions and promotion cost support, and operating various win-win programs such as creating a win-win fund and providing education expense support for agency owners' children.
The corporations that received a good rating include NAMYANG DAIRY PRODUCTS, E-Land World, and CJ CheilJedang. NAMYANG DAIRY PRODUCTS was recognized for reducing supply prices and supporting promotional materials, E-Land World for transferring online mall orders to agencies to boost sales, and CJ CheilJedang for creating a co-growth fund. ORION and LG H&H were selected for the fair rating.
Corporations with a fair rating or higher receive commendations from the Fair Trade Commission Chairperson. In particular, corporations with the highest rating are exempt from the agency law investigation for two years, while those with a good rating are exempt for one year.
The Fair Trade Commission noted that it plans to continue supporting the dissemination of fair trade agreements through explanation sessions, individual consultations, and advice, primarily focusing on industries with active agency transactions, and will raise awareness of agreements through the publication of exemplary case studies and announcements of outstanding win-win practices.
