President Lee Jae-myung said on the 8th regarding the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and Singapore, "I hope to further strengthen the friendly cooperative relationship between the two countries through the elevation of bilateral relations this year."
President Lee said through Facebook, "Today, August 8, marks the meaningful day of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Singapore."
President Lee noted, "To commemorate today, we exchanged congratulatory letters with Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and celebrated the remarkable progress our two countries have achieved over the past half century since establishing diplomatic relations in 1975."
President Lee added, "I hope we can embark on a new journey towards friendship for the next 100 years together." The president also included this message in English.
