The People Power Party criticized President Lee Jae-myung for having approved the appointments of Minister of Unification Jeong Dong-young, Minister of National Defense Ahn Gyu-baek, and Minister of Veterans Affairs Kwon Oh-eul, saying, "Ignoring the public with the Kang Seon-woo controversy and causing division in the country, he ultimately continues with the appointments that are already predetermined, so all you have to do is respond." The term refers to the idea that the answer is already set.
Choi Soo-jin, the spokesperson for the People Power Party, stated in a comment on the 26th, "President Lee has pushed ahead with the appointments of Jeong Dong-young, Ahn Gyu-baek, and Kwon Oh-eul as ministers without the National Assembly's confirmation hearing report being adopted."
Choi continued to express concerns about those still in the hearing process. In particular, mentioning the candidate for Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Choi Hwi-young, she remarked, "The candidate is a veritable 'set of corruption,'" and claimed, "The suspicions that have emerged so far, including real estate speculation using insider information, are severe, with evidence revealing irregularities in operating the company like a shell corporation and multiple violations resulting in fines."
She added, "The level of chaos in the appointments is close to a disaster and is already sufficient," stressing, "Forcing appointments while ignoring public opinion is a challenge and arrogance towards the people that must be remembered."
