Prime Minister Kim Min-seok recently instructed an urgent review regarding the inadequate response of some local governments, including Guri City and Sejong City, in light of the disaster situation caused by heavy rainfall, the Prime Minister's Office announced on the 22nd.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Kim ordered the 'Government Joint Public Service Inspection Team' to urgently check whether the disaster response system was functioning properly and if there were any issues with the discipline of the relevant public officials.
Earlier, it was revealed that a missing person had occurred in Sejong City due to the heavy rain, but the situation was not properly assessed even a day later. In Guri City, it was confirmed that Mayor Baek Kang-hyun attended a picnic in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, during the heavy rain and was seen singing and dancing.
