Prime Minister Kim Min-seok said on the 7th, 'I will become the dawn prime minister who protects the dawn of the people.'
On this day, the Prime Minister stated during the inauguration ceremony for the 49th Prime Minister held at the Government Sejong Building, 'I will overcome the scars of rebellion and the second IMF crisis.'
The Prime Minister defined his role as 'the chief of staff who opens an era of a great Korea, a great people, and a great president' and 'the director of the National Comprehensive Situation Headquarters, overseeing and ensuring the realization of national policy direction.'
He noted, 'I thank the people who have opened a new era and the president who has entrusted me with this task,' and reflected on former President Kim Dae-jung's words, 'Life is beautiful and history progresses,' adding, 'The Korean people will take a big step forward this time as well.'
He also reflected on his past as a student activist, stating, 'Youth was a sense of indignation. Life had its twists and turns, but it was a blessing,' and added, 'I learned that heaven and the people are what I am most afraid of and grateful for.'
He continued, 'The prayer of my blind uncle changed my thoughts,' and said, 'I realized that the change in people is fundamental, more so than the change in systems.'
He added, 'I will announce the specific work plan separately tomorrow,' and remarked, 'Let's run together towards the victory of the Republic of Korea.'
