On this day, after the nomination motion was passed in the 426th National Assembly (extraordinary session) fourth plenary meeting, the Prime Minister posted this message on his Facebook.
He noted, "I will realize the President's direction from the ground up and incorporate the wisdom of lawmakers across party lines into state affairs," adding, "I will become a prime minister who thinks ahead and takes charge early as the President's chief of staff." He further mentioned, "I will open an era of a great people, a great government, and a great President."
On this day, the Prime Minister candidate's nomination motion was passed with 173 votes in favor out of 179 attending lawmakers. The vote was led by lawmakers from the Democratic Party of Korea and other ruling party members, while the People Power Party, which has opposed the Prime Minister's approval, did not attend the plenary meeting and abstained from the vote.
