The Ministry of Environment has recognized an additional 48 victims of humidifier disinfectants, increasing the number of recipients for compensation to 5,908.
On the 3rd, the Ministry of Environment held the 45th meeting of the Humidifier Disinfectant Damage Relief Committee in a conference room near Seoul Station, where it reviewed and voted on compensation payments for 83 individuals and the classification of damage for 127 individuals.
During the meeting, the committee decided to provide compensation payments to 48 newly recognized victims. Additionally, it classified the damage levels for 35 victims who had been recognized but had not received a damage classification.
Among the victims who received compensation payments and damage classifications were 11 individuals with lung cancer. This decision brings the total number of recipients for humidifier disinfectant compensation to 5,908.
Based on the results of this committee meeting, the Ministry of Environment plans to carry out compensation payments and other relief measures for victims without any delays.
