President Lee Jae-myung said during a National Assembly speech on the 26th to explain the supplementary budget proposal, "Restoring the collapsed economy and revitalizing the livelihood economy are the most urgent tasks we must solve now."
President Lee said, "When low growth continues as it is now, we fall into a vicious cycle where the door to opportunities narrows and competition and conflict intensify," adding, "To alleviate polarization and inequality, we must create new growth engines and open the door to 'fair growth' where we share opportunities and results together, leading us to a world where everyone can live well."
He continued, "We must also normalize the capital market. If we recover the transparency and fairness of the capital market, the economy will thrive, and corporations will grow properly, leading to a virtuous cycle that can open the era of KOSPI 5000 that all our citizens desire."
President Lee emphasized, "We need to make large-scale investments in advanced technology industries such as artificial intelligence and semiconductors, and complete the energy transition centered on renewable energy as soon as possible to respond to the climate crisis and RE100," adding, "We must also focus on innovation in the bioindustry and manufacturing, and foster the cultural industry to create a leading Korea in the world."
