Prime Minister candidate Kim Min-seok said on the 26th, "I feel very disappointed that the opposition lawmakers did not attend the hearing and it was concluded as it was."
On that day, candidate Kim met with reporters after the National Assembly personnel hearing, which ultimately ended in disruption due to a controversy surrounding 'failure to submit documents,' noting, "We had agreed to provide all the requested materials at the end." Candidate Kim added, "I will provide a summary of the entire hearing process tomorrow."
During this hearing, the People Power Party stated that it was difficult to proceed normally with the hearing as no documents related to candidate Kim's assets and degree-related suspicions had been submitted.
On the other hand, the Democratic Party of Korea countered that the People Power Party was launching excessive political offensives, asserting that candidate Kim had sufficiently explained the matters. Candidate Kim maintained that he had submitted all materials he could provide within the scope allowed by the precedent of the Prime Minister's hearing.
As the back-and-forth over the submission of documents continued, Chairperson Lee Jong-bae declared a recess around 4:30 p.m. on the 25th. In subsequent consultations between Chairperson Lee and the floor leaders, both sides could not find common ground, and as midnight approached, the hearing was automatically adjourned.
