President Lee Jae-myung introduced on the 26th during a parliamentary address for the explanation of the second supplementary budget that "we have allocated 11.3 trillion won for consumption stimulus budget to respond to the serious domestic recession."
President Lee noted, "We plan to allocate a restoration consumption coupon worth approximately 13 trillion won to strengthen consumption capacity and support the revitalization of the domestic market," adding, "The consumption coupons will be universally distributed to all citizens, including taxpayers, while providing more robust tailored support for vulnerable groups and regions facing population decline."
He explained, "Each citizen will receive 150,000 won, with support reaching up to 520,000 won depending on circumstances and regions."
Additionally, he said, "To breathe life into the local economy, we are injecting an additional 600 billion won into the local love gift certificates, increasing the discount rate and expanding the issuance scale by an additional 8 trillion won," adding, "The consumption coupons and local love gift certificates reflect the new government's philosophy of providing more national funding to local areas."
