On the 25th, Kim Byeong-ki, the acting leader and floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, urged for a reinvestigation regarding the allegation that President Lee Jae-myung was involved in remittances to North Korea during his time as the governor of Gyeonggi Province, calling it "a conspiracy to eliminate Lee Jae-myung" orchestrated by Yoon Suk-yeol and the political prosecutors.
On that day, Kim shared an interview on his Facebook where Bae Sang-yun, the chairman of KH Group who is on the run due to embezzlement allegations, stated that "there is no connection between President Lee and the remittance case to North Korea."
Kim noted that Bae said he had secretly pursued a business agreement with North Korea together with Kim Seong-tae, chairman of SSANGBANGWOOL, for their business interests, adding, "As the conspiracy to eliminate Lee Jae-myung and the false charges by the Yoon Suk-yeol dictatorship and political prosecutors have been revealed as facts, an immediate reinvestigation is necessary to uncover the truth."
Kim stated, "The Democratic Party will take all measures necessary for the establishment of a special organization to uncover the truth, and will dig to the end to restore justice."
