The National Planning Committee, which acts as the transition committee drawing up the blueprint for Lee Jae-myung's five years in office, will receive departmental reports in Sejong City from the 18th to the 20th. In the case of departments whose main offices are located in Seoul, such as the Korean National Police Agency, reports can be held in Seoul through separate committee discussions.
On the 17th, Spokesperson Cho Seung-rae of the National Planning Committee met with reporters after holding the first operations committee meeting and explained, "Each department will report on three main topics: ▲current issues ▲the president's election promise implementation plans ▲tasks felt by the public, followed by discussions."
The operations committee acts as a control tower that comprehensively adjusts and reviews issues discussed by subcommittees daily, with Lee Han-joo serving as the chair.
Spokesperson Cho noted, "The subcommittees will prepare a draft on which national tasks to include and integrate following this week's reports and next week's promise reviews, and the National Planning subcommittee will undergo a process of integration and adjustment, with the detailed implementation plan including finances and budgets being prepared. As the National Planning Committee has a deadline of 60 days, we will organize everything as quickly as possible."
During the day's operations committee meeting, discussions were also held on the formation of task forces (TF) that will deal with major issues in addition to policies. Spokesperson Cho stated, "The formation of TFs concerning five matters, including national vision, organizational restructuring, a five-year national management plan, and subsequent financial plans, as well as financial and tax reforms, will be organized as swiftly as possible."
In particular, regarding the organizational restructuring TF, which has gained the attention of all ministries, Spokesperson Cho stated, "It will be primarily composed around the National Planning subcommittee and will be formed today to a certain extent, with participation from other necessary subcommittees," adding, "Experts will also participate, and we will listen to the opinions of advisory committee members."
