Kim Yong-tae, Chairperson of the People Power Party emergency response committee, said on the 13th that when determining an important party policy, "the opinions of the party's main support base, conservatives and moderates, should be reflected." He also noted, "Voting by all party members, local party members, and district party members should be activated."
On that day, the chairperson suggested the direction of the policy formation process, saying on his Facebook, "The party policy reflects the party's identity regarding key issues and can determine the party's fate by setting its direction."
He stated that to quickly reflect the opinions of the main support base, "a systematic and rapid opinion survey report on key issues should be provided through the Yeouido Institute, etc."
He also stated, "In preparation for situations where it is difficult to convene a general meeting to decide on party policies, a voting system that can gather the consensus of lawmakers through quick discussions on current issues should be established."
Such writings came after the chairperson suggested a party member opinion survey, saying earlier that day, "If party members do not wish to invalidate the party policy opposing impeachment, I will withdraw it."
The chairperson stated, "I believe that the party's sentiment is not different from public sentiment. It was the party members who corrected the mistakes during the recent candidate replacement process," and added, "I believe that our party members clearly understand the direction in which our party should move forward."
