The three major broadcasters (Korea Broadcasting System (KBS), Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS)) reported around 11:15 p.m. on the 3rd that Lee Jae-myung, the candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea, is likely to be elected. This is at a point when the vote counting rate exceeded 30%.
The National Election Commission stated that as of 11:13 p.m. on the day of the 21st presidential election, the nationwide vote counting rate was recorded at 30.01%.
The vote rates for each candidate are as follows: Lee Jae-myung from the Democratic Party of Korea 48.27%, Kim Moon-soo from the People Power Party 43.47%, and Lee Jun-seok from the Reform Party 7.22%. All three broadcasters reported that as of 11:18 p.m., candidate Lee Jae-myung appears to be likely to be elected.
