Lee Jun-seok, the Reform Party presidential candidate, said on the 2nd, "A vote for Lee Jun-seok is seed money for investment, asking the broader conservative force to begin anew founded on the youth."
On the same day, the candidate noted on Facebook, "For the future of Korea, the survival of conservatism, and hope for the younger generation, I ask for your decision." The candidate said, "According to detailed investigations and data analysis, Kim Moon-soo has clearly been defeated," and explained, "Regardless of whether unification occurs, there is no way to win."
"Look at the two candidates who stepped back after declaring their support for candidate Kim," Lee said. "One is the Liberty Unification Party's candidate who was opposed to the impeachment of Yoon Suk-yeol to the end, and the other is Hwang Kyo-ahn, who is floundering in an election fraud conspiracy theory."
Earlier, independent candidate Hwang Kyo-ahn declared on the previous day, "To concentrate our final efforts, I will support candidate Kim," after resigning from the candidacy. Liberty Unification Party's Koo Joo-wa also declared support for candidate Kim and announced candidacy withdrawal on the 19th of last month.
Candidate Lee stated, "A vote cast for this perplexing coalition is a vote that kills democracy twice," and added, "I, Lee Jun-seok, cannot stand with such forces, and have fought fiercely against Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party of Korea despite enduring many wounds."
Candidate Lee stated that "a vote cast for candidate Kim absolves Yoon Suk-yeol, Jeon Kwang-hun, and Hwang Kyo-ahn and encourages them," explaining, "It is not a vote for change within the broader conservative domain, but one that defends the vested interests." Lee further urged, "Send overwhelming support not towards the fading full moon but towards the waxing crescent moon."
