On the 27th, 107 members of the People Power Party said, "On June 3, please prevent the totalitarian dictatorship of Lee Jae-myung's criminal forces and maintain order in the country."
Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader, noted on that day at the National Assembly, "If the Democratic Party of Korea's Lee Jae-myung becomes president, he will use not only the legislature but also the executive branch as a tool for his protection and will attempt to dominate the judiciary." He announced this in a public appeal document written in the name of all People Power Party lawmakers.
The People Power Party lawmakers said, "Yesterday, the Democratic Party decided to withdraw some controversial legislations, such as the appointment of non-lawyers as Supreme Court justices and the expansion of the Supreme Court by 100 judges, but most totalitarian legislative measures, including the addition of 30 judges to the Supreme Court, the special investigation law for the Chief Justice, the 'presidential trial suspension law,' and the amendment to the false information publication crime, have not been given up." They added, "It's truly nothing more than 'fooling ourselves.'"
They added, "The fundamental reason the criminal forces of Lee Jae-myung are engrossed in totalitarian legislation is due to 'Candidate Lee Jae-myung' himself, as he cannot complete his presidential term without neutralizing his trial."
They stated, "Candidate Lee Jae-myung received a guilty ruling reversal in a case related to the violation of the Public Official Election Act at the Supreme Court. Since the issues in the case are straightforward, there is a high probability that a conclusion will be reached within this year." They added, "In other words, even if Candidate Lee Jae-myung becomes president, it is likely that he would soon have a guilty verdict confirmed, leading to his removal from office and resulting in yet another early presidential election."
The People Power Party lawmakers referenced the ongoing trials involving Candidate Lee Jae-myung, including ▲ the second trial of the perjury solicitation case ▲ the Daejang-dong, Baekhyeon-dong, Wirye New Town, and Seongnam FC cases ▲ the North Korean remittance case ▲ and the misuse of funds case, noting, "If Candidate Lee Jae-myung becomes president, he will have to face all of these trials while serving in office."
They said, "Candidate Lee Jae-myung is exploring every possible method to prevent his guilty verdict from being finalized from now on" and added, "Whatever means are used, any attempts to suppress these trials during his five-year term will inevitably lead to a totalitarian dictatorship in which the president controls and dominates the judiciary through the legislature."
They further stated, "Our citizens will be faced with a horrific dilemma: 'Will the president resign immediately or will he destroy the judiciary and seize the three branches of government?' and 'Is it an early election or totalitarian dictatorship?'" They emphasized, "The only way to prevent this national chaos is the defeat of Candidate Lee Jae-myung."
