The support rate for Democratic Party of Korea candidate Lee Jae-myung is 45.9%, ahead of People Power Party candidates Kim Moon-soo at 34.4% and Lee Jun-seok at 11.3%, according to a poll released on the 27th.
Research and Research (R&R) announced the results of a poll conducted on 1,008 adults aged 18 and older from the 24th to 25th at the request of the Dong-A Ilbo. From the 28th, the publication of polls related to the June 3 presidential election will be prohibited.
Even if candidates Kim and Lee Jun-seok unify, Lee Jae-myung's support rate remained ahead of them outside the margin of error. In a two-way matchup with Kim, Lee Jae-myung led with 50.0% against Kim's 41.6%, a margin of 8.4 percentage points. In a confrontation with Lee Jun-seok, the numbers were Lee Jae-myung 49.3% and Lee Jun-seok 34.9%, showing a difference of 14.4 percentage points.
In the case of unification, suitable candidates were Kim with 45.4% and Lee Jun-seok with 25.9%. Among the moderate group, Kim had 37.0% and Lee Jun-seok had 29.7%. The opinion that the two candidates should unify was at 41.5%, while the view against unification was 42.2%. Among moderates, the sentiment of 'should not unify' was significantly higher at 49.3% compared to 'should unify' at 31.0%.
Nonetheless, the most significant variable that could impact the presidential election is seen as the unification between candidates Kim and Lee Jun-seok (34.1%). Following that were ▲investigations into former President Yoon Suk-yeol and his spouse (18.9%) ▲candidates' policies and pledges (14.8%) ▲TV debates (11.7%).
