Rep. Yoon Sang-hyun (Incheon Dong-Michuhol) has been appointed as co-chairman of the campaign committee for the People Power Party in the 21st presidential election.
On the 26th, the People Power Party announced the results of additional appointments to the Central Election Countermeasures Committee.
Former Rep. Lee Sang-min, a five-term lawmaker, has taken charge of the Special Committee on Future Strategy and Science and Technology.
The inclusion of various figures affiliated with the pro-Han Dong-hoon faction also drew attention.
Re-elected Rep. Bae Hyun-jin (Seoul Songpa-B) has been appointed as the head of the metropolitan election campaign headquarters, while newcomer Rep. Park Jeong-hoon (Seoul Songpa-A) will lead the Seoul election campaign headquarters.
Freshman Rep. Ko Dong-jin from Gangnam, Seoul, has been appointed as the head of the Professional Affairs Division, while proportional representative Rep. Jin Jong-oh will lead the Sports Policy Division of the Policy Division.
The pro-Han faction has also joined the presidential candidate's secretariat.
Rep. Ahn Sang-hoon (proportional) has been appointed as the head of the Policy Advisory Group, while Reps. Jung Seong-guk (Busan Jin-gap) and Woo Jae-jun (Daegu Buk-gap) have been appointed as education and legal advisors, respectively.
The significant participation of the pro-Han faction in the campaign committee is believed to be related to former leader Han Dong-hoon's joint campaign with candidate Kim in Dobong-gu, Seoul, during the official election campaign for the first time on that day.
It has been 23 days since former leader Han was seen with candidate Kim, who he competed against in the final primary, on May 3 during the party convention.
Since the 20th, former leader Han has been actively campaigning for candidate Kim in Busan, followed by Daegu, Chungbuk, and Seoul.
The campaign committee noted, "Presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo has focused on unity and integration in making additional appointments" and added, "Through this appointment, candidate Kim aims to broaden the scope of integration and fully consolidate the committee's capabilities to conduct a fair election campaign."
