Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 17th, "It is now time for the People Power Party and its candidate to begin their public apology."
On that day, the candidate stated via Facebook, "On Feb. 16, I predicted that 'the People Power Party and its candidate will deny Yoon Suk-yeol within 100 days,' and signs of that have begun to appear."
He criticized, "Soon they will pour ice water over themselves and say, 'I'm sorry,' 'I have committed a grave sin,' and 'Please forgive me just this once,'" noting, "This is the behavior of those who believe that 'the public will forget everything after a year.'"
He emphasized, "The public is a great collective intelligence, and they could suffer a great blow. The public is the master."
The post was published about two hours before former President Yoon Suk-yeol expressed his intention to leave the People Power Party at 6:52 a.m. on that day.
Former President Yoon stated through Facebook around 9:10 a.m. that day, "I am leaving the People Power Party today," adding, "Although I am leaving the party, I will serve with loyalty to protect freedom and sovereignty."
