Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, said to Han Dong-hoon on the 15th, "This is not the time to eat snacks and do an internet live broadcast. If you have become the party leader by the hands of the party members, please take action to protect the party and the Republic of Korea."
On the same day, Ahn held a press conference at the National Assembly and urged Han, who had competed in the primary election with presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo, to join in on the campaign.
He also mentioned former Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo and former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who had been in conflict over unification.
Ahn said to Hong, "If there were any grievances during the primary process, I hope you can generously resolve them for the sake of the people and party members. I believe that is the duty of a politician for the people." He requested to Han, "Please forget the pain of the candidate replacement process and step up for the future of the country. If you have started, please also see it through to the end. I earnestly ask you."
Ahn emphasized the need for unity within the party for victory in the presidential election, saying, "Now is the time to follow Kim Moon-soo's lead."
He added, "General Yi Sun-sin fought desperately against 133 enemy ships alone. The appearance of our party's candidate Kim Moon-soo seems to look just as lonely now."
He continued, "What is needed now is a commitment to the people, a united heart and action, and readiness for ' 필생즉사 필사즉생' ('To live is to die, to die is to live')," and argued that "We must all stop candidate Lee Jae-myung with a sense of urgency."
