Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea presidential candidate, said on the 14th, "Our goal is not overwhelming victory but victory at all costs," and added, "While there are optimistic forecasts, I expect that it will ultimately be a very close contest."
The candidate met with reporters after paying respects at the United Nations Memorial Park in Nam-gu, Busan, on the morning of the same day, stating, "I am doing my utmost to win even a single vote," and requested, "Since this election involves the fate of the nation, I ask that everyone votes without fail."
On this third day of the campaign, the candidate will visit Busan and the cities of Changwon, Tongyeong, and Geoje in South Gyeongsang Province for campaign activities. This marks the second consecutive day of visiting the Yeongnam region following stops in Gumi, Pohang, Daegu, and Ulsan the previous day.
In response to a question regarding why he is visiting the difficult regions of TK (Daegu and North Gyeongsang) and PK (Busan, Ulsan, and South Gyeongsang) early in the election campaign, the candidate noted, "It's not because they are difficult regions that I came here first," while also expressing, "I urge party insiders to desperately think, 'One person should secure three votes,' and 'Three votes are not enough.'"
