The People Power Party has announced additional results of key appointments for the central election countermeasure committee of candidate Kim Moon-soo for the 21st presidential election on Dec. 12.
Shin Dong-uk, the chief spokesperson, noted on that day, "We considered integration and expertise."
The party appointed lawmaker Kim Yong-tae, who was designated as the emergency response chair the previous day, as the co-chair of the election countermeasure committee. Kim also serves as the head of the youth headquarters. Including previously appointed co-chairs Joo Ho-young, Kweon Seong-dong, Na Kyung-won, Ahn Cheol-soo, Hwang Woo-yeo, and Yang Hyang-ja, there are a total of seven.
Park Dae-chul, designated as secretary general, has taken charge of the overall support headquarters. Yoon Jae-ok was appointed as the overall head, while Chung Hee-yong was appointed as the deputy overall head.
The situation room is led by Situation Room Chief Jang Dong-hyuk and includes ▲Schedule Director General Kang Myung-gu ▲Message Director General Jo Ji-yeon ▲Strategy Planning Director General Park Jun-tae ▲Issue Response Director General Lee Jae-sung, deputy director of the Yeouido Research Institute. The members are in their 30s and 40s, and it is interpreted as being deployed for agile responses.
Shin Dong-uk has been appointed as the head of the spokesperson group, and lawmakers Park Seong-hoon and former spokesperson Lee Chung-hyung from Kim Moon-soo's camp, Jo Yong-sul, chairman of the Gyeonggi Goyang party organization, and former announcer Park Bo-kyung have been appointed as spokespersons. Lawmakers Kang Min-guk and Choi Eun-seok have been named as the head and deputy head of the public relations group.
Kim Sang-hoon has been appointed as the head of the policy overall headquarters, with Yoon Hee-sook serving as the head of the pledge development team.
Park Hyung-soo, the head of the National Assembly planning department, has been appointed. Yang Hyang-ja, the co-chair, also serves as the head of the semiconductor and AI advanced industry department, while Park Deok-heum will take charge of the organization overall headquarters, and Im Yi-ja will head the competency overall headquarters.
The public relations headquarters will be led by lawmaker Kang Seung-kyu, with ▲Public Relations Planning Director General Seo Ji-young ▲New Media Content Director General Park Soo-min ▲Media Headquarters Director General Kim Jeong-jae ▲National Siren Center Director General Lee Sang-hwi ▲Media Monitoring Director General Kim Jang-gyeom ▲Media Legal Director General Won Young-seop.
Lawmaker Kim Hee-jung has been appointed as the head of the broadcasting debate planning headquarters, with lawmaker Lee In-sun heading the women's headquarters and lawmaker Choi In-ho leading the youth policy headquarters. The Clean Election Headquarters, responsible for various legal responses related to the election, is composed of lawmakers Jung Geom-sik (Head of Clean Election Headquarters), Joo Jin-woo (Negative Director General) and lawyers Jang Young-ha (Truth Response Strategy Director General) and Noh Seung-kwon (Legal Support Director General).
The head of the campaign headquarters will be lawmaker Lee Heon-seung.
However, former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who had some noise during the unification process, former President Yoon Seok-youl, who demanded an apology regarding the state of emergency, former representative Han Dong-hoon, who declared retirement from politics and leaving the party, and former Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo were not named as co-chairs. Former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon, who discussed a big tent with former Prime Minister Han, has also expressed that he will not participate or support this election.
Chief spokesperson Shin noted when asked whether former Prime Minister Han, who declined to chair the committee, would later join the election committee, "We will continue to seek his expertise, especially his capabilities and experience in trade issues and his wisdom." He added, "We hope that former Prime Minister Han will be with us during the election process."
