Kim Moon-soo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, proposed to former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo on the 11th, 'Please take on the role of the chairman of the election committee.' Former Prime Minister Han responded, 'I will discuss what is practically appropriate.'
After completing his registration as a presidential candidate that morning, Kim met with former Prime Minister Han at the People Power Party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, and hugged him. He said, 'You have more experience and capability than I do regarding national governance and operations, and I would like to learn from you as my mentor.'
In response, former Prime Minister Han said, 'I will, of course, help the candidate as much as I can for the democratization of our country,' and noted, 'We must unite around Kim Moon-soo to win this election.'
Former Prime Minister Han also targeted the Democratic Party of Korea, stating, 'Our country is in a crisis and they are attempting to undermine the judicial system. It is unacceptable to destroy liberal democracy just because a ruling is unfavorable to them.'
