Former People Power Party presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo will attend a hearing for the provisional injunction to suspend the effectiveness of the candidate selection cancellation at the Southern District Court of Seoul at 5 p.m. on the 10th.
The camp of former candidate Kim announced this in a notice that afternoon.
Around 4:10 p.m. that day, former candidate Kim left the Yeouido election office and headed to the Southern District Court of Seoul, accompanied by Kim Jae-won, the candidate's chief secretary, and Spokesperson Park Bo-kyung.
Former candidate Kim appears to have decided to attend court as a top priority in response to the party leadership's push for a 'candidate replacement.' There is a possibility that his eligibility as a People Power Party presidential candidate could be restored depending on the decision regarding the provisional injunction.
Former candidate Kim told ChosunBiz, "It's important, so I will attend in person."
Earlier, the People Power Party held an emergency response committee and election management committee in succession early that morning and resolved issues including the cancellation of former candidate Kim's selection and the admission and registration of candidate Han Duck-soo. In a vote among all party members on the re-election of the candidates that day, a majority agreed, and if Han is nominated as the final candidate in the national committee on the 11th, the People Power Party presidential candidate 'number 2' will be confirmed as Han.
In response, former candidate Kim filed a provisional injunction to suspend the effectiveness of the 'candidate selection cancellation' against the party, and the Southern District Court of Seoul designated a hearing date unusually quickly despite the case having been filed over the weekend.
The side of former candidate Kim plans to immediately register as a presidential candidate for the People Power Party if the provisional injunction is granted.
