People Power Party candidate Kim Moon-soo proposed to independent preliminary candidate Han Duck-soo to hold a second unification meeting at 4:30 p.m. on the 8th at the National Assembly's Sarangjae.
Kim's camp stated through a media notice that "Kim proposed a meeting to Han Duck-soo yesterday and contacted him to meet at the coffee shop of Sarangjae today," and added, "We suggest an open face-to-face meeting with Han Duck-soo."
In response, Han's camp, through a written briefing from Spokesperson Lee Jung-hyeon, stated, "4 p.m. is fine, 4:30 p.m. is good, midnight is fine, and dawn is also good. Sarangjae is fine and any place other than Sarangjae is good." They added, "We can go anywhere, anytime, even if it's at the last minute."
However, the spokesperson noted that Kim's camp revealed to reporters "unilaterally and without any contact with Han's candidate or camp."
Initially, the People Power Party announced a debate between the two candidates at 6 p.m. on that day, but the debate was canceled as Kim's camp expressed its intention not to participate. Han's camp stated that it was "unfortunate."
