Kim Moon-soo, the People Power Party presidential candidate, said on the 8th, "I am not a hardline pro-Yoon," adding, "I do not think former President Yoon Seok-yeol is entirely wrong nor do I believe he is entirely right."
On the same day, candidate Kim answered this at a discussion hosted by the Gwanhun Club held at the Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, when asked, "There are views that the hardline pro-Yoon image has inherent limitations."
He noted, "I especially want to thank the president for appointing me as Minister," but added, "However, just because I am pro-Yoon does not mean that I agree with everything the president does, including declaring martial law."
He pointed to the labor policies of the Yoon Seok-yeol government as an example, stating, "President Yoon has upheld the rule of law excellently. The number of workdays lost due to strikes in South Korea has decreased to less than half. This is an achievement of labor reform," while adding, "However, the warm labor reform and care for the vulnerable have been insufficient."
He stated, "I believe it is necessary to draw our government in a more correct and complete manner with the thoughts and knowledge I possess," and regarding former President Yoon's declaration of martial law, he remarked, "It is very unfortunate that an unforeseen event occurred, leading to an unhappy trial."
