It has been confirmed that Han Duck-soo's independent presidential candidate camp formed a delegation to pursue unification with Kim Moon-soo, the People Power Party presidential candidate.
According to Han Duck-soo's camp on the 5th, the delegation, which received full authority from the former prime minister regarding unification negotiations, includes former Chief of Staff Son Young-taek and Professor Kim Seok-ho from Seoul National University.
The fact that both individuals are very close to Han is interpreted as placing those who can best understand his thoughts in prominent positions.
The atmosphere for unification negotiations is more proactive from Han's camp. The two met for the first time at Jogyesa Temple in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to celebrate Buddha's Birthday.
Han suggested to Kim, "Let's meet at a convenient time and place today," and Kim's camp responded by saying, "Let's meet again soon."
Meanwhile, on the same day, the People Power Party is reported to hold an emergency general meeting to discuss the unification issue between its presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo and independent candidate Han Duck-soo.
