The Democratic Party of Korea on 4th stated regarding Lee Jae-myung's election law case that it needs a confirmation hearing, a national investigation, and a special probe.
Chairperson Kim Min-seok held a press briefing on current issues at the National Assembly this morning and said, "We demand an immediate response in accordance with the obligation of public officials to explain to the people."
Chairperson Kim criticized, "The 10 Supreme Court justices appointed by Yoon Suk-yeol must immediately respond to the public's demand about whether they have read all the electronic documents, and if they do not, they should publicly apologize to the nation and resign voluntarily. What kind of Supreme Court justice is a rubber-stamping judge who does not even read records?"
He said, "Just as we lost Kim Gu, Cho Bong-am, Jang Jun-ha, and Roh Moo-hyun, we will not lose Lee Jae-myung. Just as we protected Kim Dae-jung to make him president, we will protect Lee Jae-myung."
He emphasized, "We will comprehensively respond by creating a special committee to prevent judicial intervention in the election and holding a national debate to inform the public about the issues with the Supreme Court's ruling."
He criticized regarding Kim Moon-soo, the final candidate of the People Power Party, saying, "He is the most extreme candidate in South Korea, even among the followers of Yoon Suk-yeol, who has expressed support for conspiracy theories about election fraud and Jeong Kwang-hoon's line."
Chairperson Kim stated, "The selection of Kim as the candidate is the signal of the People Power Party's abandonment of the presidential election and the beginning of the competition for party leadership," adding, "A disgraceful fight will ensue between Kim Moon-soo and Kweon Seong-dong (the floor leader)." He continued, "They will be torn apart, rejecting common sense among the people and excluding those who support impeachment, such as Han Dong-hoon, Oh Se-hoon, Yoo Seong-min, and even centrist figures like Hong Joon-pyo."
Regarding Han Duck-soo, he stated, "He will not be able to overcome the five major barriers of 'treason, superstition, betrayal, incompetence, and bulletproof protection,' being the biggest eat-and-run candidate since liberation who has used the prime ministership for his presidential campaign and then fled."
He ridiculed, "Will the people choose a co-conspirator in rebellion? Will they choose to extend the superstitious regime worse than Kim Keon-hee?" He criticized Han Duck-soo, who served as prime minister during the Roh Moo-hyun administration, for not having paid respects after the late president's passing.
Chairperson Kim also urged, "The prosecution and the National Election Commission must immediately investigate Han Duck-soo, who is a serious criminal accused of violating election laws and abusing power by using his position to conduct advance elections and mobilizing public officials for election preparations, and they must raid the Prime Minister's office."
Regarding the possibility of unification between Kim Moon-soo and Han Duck-soo, he criticized, "In the end, it has become a fight between the avatars of Jeong Kwang-hoon, Kim Moon-soo, and Yoon Suk-yeol, Han Duck-soo. The more you combine both and add other elements, the more the total score decreases, creating an illusory negative synergy combination."
He speculated, "As the mudfight of ambition and greed clashes, it might pass the candidate registration period, leading to former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo being unable to register and dropping out midway, or in the end, a high possibility of unification with Kim Moon-soo."
