Han Dong-hoon, a candidate for the People Power Party presidential primary, noted on the 24th regarding Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who is rumored to be running, that "the thought of protecting and nurturing the future of the Republic of Korea is completely the same."
The candidate stated on Facebook that "Prime Minister Han and I brainstormed together to minimize conflict and manage the unprecedented martial law situation." He also said, "For me, the victory of the people takes precedence over preserving vested interests," and added, "After overwhelmingly winning the primary, I will work with everyone for a victory in the final election."
In the political arena, amid speculation that Han Duck-soo's candidacy is imminent, the candidate's actions are interpreted as igniting the fire for the anti-lee jae-myung big tent campaign.
The previous day, candidate Hong Joon-pyo said, "If Prime Minister Han runs, I will keep the door open for unification negotiations for the anti-lee jae-myung big tent, even if I become the candidate." Candidate Kim Moon-soo also stated, "The big tent is an absolute imperative," and Rep. Park Soo-young, who has been leading the speculation around Prime Minister Han's candidacy, joined Kim Moon-soo's camp, saying he supports Kim, citing the possibility of unification. Currently, all candidates, except for Ahn Cheol-soo, have kept open the possibility of unification with Prime Minister Han.
The candidate continued, "Now I will focus on the fierce primary of our party."
