Former lawmaker Yang Hyang-ja, who participated in the People Power Party presidential primary, joined the campaign of candidate Han Dong-hoon on the 23rd.
On the afternoon of that day, Yang Hyang-ja held a press conference at candidate Han's campaign office in Yeouido, Seoul, declaring her support for him, stating, "I will walk into the future with candidate Han."
He noted, "Candidate Han proposed that I join him since last year, during his time as the chairman of the People Power Party and the party leader, and he was the first among the candidates in this presidential primary to reach out to me."
He then emphasized, "We have gathered around three points: First, what South Korea needs now is a young and innovative conservative party. Second, there will be no victory in the presidential election if we endorse illegal and anti-democratic states of emergency. Third, the future president must prioritize science, technology, and advanced industries."
Yang Hyang-ja stated, "The journey of Yang Hyang-ja and Han Dong-hoon is a journey with the public sentiment, a journey with innovation, and a journey with the future," adding, "For the sake of South Korea, and for the victory of the People Power Party, I will do my best."
