People Power Party presidential candidate Han Dong-hoon revealed that he appeared on Coupang Play's "SNL Korea."
Candidate Han posted a photo taken with comedian Jung Sung-ho on social media (SNS) on the 22nd. A scene from the segment "The Branch Manager Goes" on SNL Korea shows the striking resemblance between candidate Han and Jung Sung-ho. It is reported that candidate Han recorded the segment on the 21st.
Earlier, candidates Kim Moon-soo and Hong Joon-pyo also appeared on SNL Korea. Candidate Kim parodied his controversial statement, "I'm the mayor of the province," made during his term as governor of Gyeonggi Province, while candidate Hong created a three-line poem using the name of Mr. Myung-tae, who has recently been the subject of suspicion. This is interpreted as an attempt to increase familiarity with the public while diluting weaknesses.
The People Power Party's presidential candidate primary resulted in a four-way race involving Kim Moon-soo, Ahn Cheol-soo, Han Dong-hoon, and Hong Joon-pyo (in alphabetical order) following the first cutoff results the previous day. The second cutoff will be held on the 27th-28th using a method of "50% party member vote and 50% public opinion survey," with results to be announced on the 29th. If no candidate receives a majority vote, a party member vote and public opinion survey will be conducted for the top two vote-getters on May 1st-2nd, and the final candidate will be confirmed at the party convention on the 3rd.
