The Office for Government Policy Coordination announced that it will hold the '1st Republic of Korea Youth Assembly' on the 21st to open a channel for youth to directly participate in policy-making.

The assembly, which will be held at the multi-cultural space 111cm in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, on the 22nd, is designed for the government to introduce policies to youth and hear their opinions. The theme of the first assembly is 'Stories of Youth Entrepreneurship and Small Businesses.'

Youth panels will include Park Seung-hyeon, CEO of the regional branding corporation 'Gongjongo', Yoon Min-sik, president of the Suwon Haenggung-dong Young Merchants Association, who combines entrepreneurship with community service, Yoo Seung-kyu, CEO of the social enterprise 'Not Scary Company' for isolated young people, Seo Ho-yeon, an artist and entrepreneur, and Lee Yeo-san, who transitioned from a marketing promoter to a yoga instructor for self-realization.

They will discuss the recent rise in youth entrepreneurship, the conditions for success, and the support needed from a policy standpoint. Specifically, they will share their motivations for entrepreneurship regarding self-realization, work-life balance, economic freedom, and solving social isolation.

Policy officials are expected to attend the assembly to hear their discussions directly. The organized policy ideas will be submitted to relevant departments to be referenced in the future policy-making process of the government.

At this assembly, there will also be a cultural performance by Kim Soo-young, a youth singer-songwriter known through the competition program 'Sing Again 3', and a keynote lecture by branding strategist Noh Hee-young from the food service industry, including 'Market O' and 'Bibigo'.

Lee Young, vice chairman of the Youth Policy Coordination Commission, said, 'Youth are important partners in national administration with creative thoughts and ideas' and added, 'In the future, we will continue to listen to youth opinions on various topics such as housing, education, and jobs and strive to incorporate them into our policies.'
