On the 21st, Han Dong-hoon's People Power Party presidential primary candidate camp announced the appointment of a 'Policy Advisory Group' led by Honorary Professor Lee In-ho of Seoul National University.
Professor Lee, who serves as the Director General of the advisory group, is a scholar who has researched microeconomics and game theory. He has served as the president of the Korean Industrial Organization Society, the president of the Korean Financial Information Society, the Chairperson of the Fair Trade Commission's Corporate Group Advisory Committee, and the president of the Korean Economic Association. Additionally, he was the vice-chairperson of the National Economic Advisory Council, the President's economic advisory body, in the Yoon Suk-yeol administration.
The private commissioners include Professor Lee (economics), as well as ▲Professor Kim Young-mi from Dongsuh University, Department of Social Work (welfare) ▲Professor Heo Jeong from Sogang University, Department of Economics (industry) ▲Professor Song Baek-hoon from Dongguk University, Department of International Trade (trade) ▲Professor Lee Young-min from Sookmyung Women's University, Department of Public Administration (employment and labor) ▲Professor Ahn Jeong-hoon from Ewha Womans University, Department of Convergent Health Science (healthcare) ▲Research Fellow Ryu Jeong-ah from the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute (culture and tourism) ▲Professor Choi Hyun-deok from Seoul Science and Technology University, Department of Smart ICT Convergence Engineering (AI and robotics) ▲Professor Lee Chang-hee from Korea University, Department of Artificial Intelligence (AI and healthcare), totaling 9 members. They are reported to have been working with Candidate Han on policy and pledge development for several months.
Members of the Han Dong-hoon faction in the legislature will also support pledge implementation in various institutional sectors. Ahn Sang-hoon, who served as the first social chief in the Yoon Suk-yeol administration, will focus on welfare state policies, while Koh Dong-jin, a former president of Samsung Electronics, will oversee the artificial intelligence transformation (AX) sector. Representative Kim Geon, who served as head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Korea Peace Negotiation Headquarters, will assist with foreign affairs and unification sector policy advising.
Additionally, 12 members including Kim So-hee (climate, environment and energy), Kim Ye-ji (disability), Park Jeong-hoon (media), Bae Hyun-jin (culture and childcare), Jeong Seong-guk (education and children), Jin Jong-oh (sports), Woo Jae-jun (employment, labor, and youth), Yoo Yong-won (defense and security), and Han Ji-a (healthcare and seniors) from the People Power Party were also named as advisory committee members.
Ahn Sang-hoon, the policy chairperson of the People First Camp, which will serve as the secretariat for the policy advisory group, noted, "The advisory group is composed mainly of young blood in their 40s and 50s," adding, "Those who have previously served as vice-chairpersons directly overseeing economic and social policy are also part of the group."
