People Power Party candidate Na Kyung-won stated on the 17th, "I will make a final decision on nuclear armament within a year and ensure that all technical, institutional, and diplomatic preparations that can be immediately executed are completed."
Candidate Na held a press conference in the National Assembly communications room in the afternoon to announce foreign, security, defense, and unification pledges, saying, "If elected president, I will immediately engage in close discussions with the United States to launch a 'nuclear sovereignty acquisition emergency roadmap.'" She added, "A presidentially appointed 'National Nuclear Strategy Command' will thoroughly oversee all these processes."
She noted, "Acquiring nuclear sovereignty is not merely a defense measure, but the ultimate means to lead North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons and to enforce the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula."
Candidate Na also referenced the U.S. veterans' support law called 'G.I. Bill,' stating, "'G.I. Bill' spirit will be Koreanized through the introduction of a 'new military service bonus and support system' and emphasized, "I will meticulously design various preferential benefits, including ▲ job preparation ▲ academic return ▲ financial support ▲ housing provision."
She further stated, "I will establish the 'K-Athena Project' to support any woman who wishes to receive basic military training and grow into a 'converged security talent' and added, "Graduates will receive significant bonuses for civil servant and public enterprise recruitment, as well as special supply of dwellings."
Candidate Na said, "I will activate the artificial intelligence (AI) technology strong military 'Iron Brain' project," and added, "We will establish an integrated command and control system that supports decision-making and command in real-time and deploy drone killers and cyber guardians across the military."
Regarding Korea-China relations, he stated, "There is nothing but fair reciprocity" and added, "I will completely block the unreasonable privileges granted to Chinese and other foreigners, including voting rights, real estate, and health insurance."
