Former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon noted on the 15th regarding the presidential candidacy theory of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, acting on behalf of the president, that it is "roughly like stock manipulation of theme stocks."
On this day, former leader Han, a potential candidate for the presidency, appeared on CBS Radio and said, "The public isn’t organizing a movement to ‘bring in a specific person,’ but a few lawmakers are fanning the flames, saying ‘how about this?’"
He remarked, "Wasn’t it similar when they raised former Minister Kim Moon-soo?" and asked, "Is it now that former Minister Kim is not viable and another person is?" He added, "This process shows defeatism."
Regarding some lawmakers in the party urging an acting role for Han, he said, "If that really has a justification, I hope they will disclose the contents of that petition today."
Former leader Han also stated concerning the 'Big Tent Theory' emerging from within the party, "In principle, we must unite with many from the conservative camp," but added, "However, if it presupposes ridiculing our party’s primary itself, I do not support it." The Big Tent Theory argues that after the party’s primary, there should be additional alliances with figures outside the party.
He remarked about lawmaker Na Kyung-won, his rival in the primary, who said in a media interview that she thought, "We must definitely defeat Han Dong-hoon," stating, "In the past, former Unified Progressive Party candidate Lee Jung-hee made a similar remark during a debate with President Park Geun-hye," adding, "It’s unfortunate that there’s nothing to resemble, so they are reminiscent of the Unified Progressive Party."
Lawmaker Han also stated regarding former Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung's announcement the day before about a plan for a 'free artificial intelligence (AI) for all citizens,' that "the idea itself is always about distributing money, and I believe he is trapped in making (public) delivery apps during his time as governor of Gyeonggi Province."
