Earlier, the Supreme Court sent the notice of receipt of lawsuit records to former representative Lee on the 31st of last month; however, it was returned due to absence of the addressee (the recipient was not present and the door was closed), prompting a request for the court bailiff to deliver it directly in person on the 7th.

Former representative Lee has been indicted on charges of violating election law by publicly declaring false facts related to preferential treatment allegations regarding the late Kim Moon-ki, the head of the first development division of Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, and changes in the use of land for the Korea Food Research Institute in Baekhyeon-dong, Seongnam, when he was a Democratic presidential candidate in 2021.

The first trial court sentenced him to a suspended prison sentence, but the appeals court acquitted former representative Lee on the 26th of last month.
