Former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon noted on the 8th, "I support a prompt supplementary budget, but 10 trillion won is insufficient. It should be increased boldly."
On the same day, former leader Han stated on Facebook, "Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Choi Sang-mok said he would announce a supplementary budget plan of 10 trillion won early next week," adding this.
Former leader Han pointed out, "First, remember that the Democratic Party led by Lee Jae-myung passed a budget plan that unilaterally cut more than 4 trillion won at the end of last year," stating, "Considering that 10 trillion supplementary budget is being arranged after more than 4 trillion won has already been cut, it is practically a supplementary budget that does not amount to 10 trillion."
He continued, "Moreover, the impact of the 'Trump tariff' is tremendous. It is said that 3 to 4 trillion won will be invested into changes in the trade environment and enhancing AI competitiveness among the 10 trillion won," pointing out, "It is insufficient to help our corporations rebuild their global supply chains and to keep any companies that are trying to transfer factories to the United States from being affected by the 'Trump tariff' and to assist small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners who will be affected in turn."
Former leader Han urged, "I request the government to boldly increase the scale of the supplementary budget beyond 10 trillion won. Now is the time to actively inject financial resources to prevent anxiety from spreading throughout our economy and protect industries facing a crisis."
He also noted regarding the National Assembly, "A bill to establish a 50 trillion won advanced strategic industry fund, to support key strategic industries including semiconductors, has been submitted to the National Assembly," adding, "Since our party and the Democratic Party's negotiators have come to an agreement, there is no reason to delay any further."
