Member of the National Assembly Ahn Cheol-soo said on 8th, “Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, is the weakest opponent,” noting that a turnaround is possible within 60 days.

Ahn said during an appearance on CBS's Kim Hyun-jung News Show that “what the moderate group desires most is morality and expertise. Because Lee has not been able to properly demonstrate these aspects and has instead acted in the opposite way, the undecided group is at an all-time high.”

Ahn will officially announce his candidacy for the 21st presidential election at Lee & Ko Plaza at 11 a.m. on that day.

He emphasized, “I believe that if a candidate with moral integrity, expertise, and the ability to broaden the center emerges, we can win against Lee.”

Ahn also posted on his Facebook that “Lee Jae-myung is the worst (weak) candidate.”

Regarding Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moon-soo, who has high approval ratings among potential candidates for the ruling party, Ahn stated, “He is a principled person, but the problem is that he lacks expandability,” and added, “If he faces Lee one-on-one, the probability of loss is nearly 100%.”

When asked whether former President Yoon Suk-yeol should be expelled to sever ties, he responded, “It sounds like former President Yoon is pondering what is optimal for revitalizing the party and conservatism,” and added, “I would like to leave that choice, including defection, to him.”

He expressed support for National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik's proposal for constitutional amendment but questioned whether it would be feasible to hold the national referendum on the constitutional amendment simultaneously with the presidential election.

Ahn remarked, “With less than two months left, it would be difficult to conduct a primary,” and emphasized, “I think everyone, including Lee, should promise to hold the national referendum on constitutional amendment together during next year's local elections and prepare for this presidential election.”
