The National Assembly announced on the 6th that it will maintain the restrictions on external access to the Assembly, which were implemented on the 3rd ahead of the Constitutional Court's ruling on former President Yoon Suk-yeol, until the 13th.
The National Assembly Secretariat stated in a press release that "the restriction on external access will be maintained until the 13th, the last day of the Yeouido Spring Flower Festival (April 6-13), for the protection of members' safety and order in the Assembly grounds following the presidential impeachment on April 4."
The National Assembly Secretariat has been opening the Assembly grounds during the Yeouido Spring Flower Festival every year and hosting events with citizens in the Assembly lawn.
However, the Secretariat explained that recent incidents, such as vehicle collisions at the Assembly's outer gates and attempts to bring in dangerous items, made it unavoidable to take these measures to protect the safety of members of the National Assembly and maintain order.
However, starting on the 8th, access to the National Assembly will be allowed again for reading at the National Assembly Library, observing the Assembly, and seminars at the member's hall.
