Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 1st to Acting Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, "You are the 'frog in the well' Prime Minister," adding, "If the appointment of Judge Ma Eun-hyuk is delayed today, the National Assembly will do what it must do."
During a floor strategy meeting held in the tent headquarters of the Democratic Party in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, that morning, Park noted, "(Acting Prime Minister Han) postponed the immediate appointment of Judge Ma Eun-hyuk and exercised a veto on the commercial law amendment that should not be postponed."
He said, "Today marks the 34th day since the Constitutional Court unanimously decided that the non-appointment of Judge Ma Eun-hyuk is unconstitutional, and it has already been 9 days since Acting Prime Minister Han Duck-soo returned to his role, yet he has not appointed Judge Ma," adding, "It must be because he intends to entirely collapse the constitutional order of the Republic of Korea, hopes for a worsening economy, or is complicit in insurrection."
Regarding Acting Prime Minister Han's exercise of the right to request reconsideration (veto) on the commercial law amendment that day, he criticized, "It is the 7th time he has used the veto. Is he competing with former Acting Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok?" adding, "This is a very contradictory step for an acting prime minister."
As he continued, regarding the delay of the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk-yeol, he urged the Constitutional Court, "You must face the nation's anger," and called for an immediate ruling to dismiss the insurrectionist Yoon Suk-yeol. He further remarked, "If you betray the trust of the people to punish the destroyer of the constitution, the very value of the Constitutional Court's existence will disappear."
Before the floor strategy meeting, during an emergency press conference held in front of the Government Seoul Office, Park emphasized, "If Judge Ma Eun-hyuk is not appointed by today, the Democratic Party will do what the National Assembly must do to protect the constitution and democracy, prevent constitutional collapse, and safeguard the people," referring to it as "the final warning" to Acting Prime Minister Han.
