Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party, said on the 31st regarding the '10 trillion' supplementary budget announced by the government the day before, "We must first pass it urgently and create a separate discussion structure for the portions requested by both the ruling and opposition parties."
On that day, Kweon, the floor leader, stated at a meeting of the ruling and opposition party leaders held in the National Assembly Speaker's office, "This supplementary budget has no points of contention between the ruling and opposition parties and only contains budget allocations that must be urgently addressed for forest fire damage and responses to AI (artificial intelligence) and trade issues."
He explained the necessity for a swift passage of the supplementary budget by stating, "If the ruling and opposition parties submit different supplementary budget proposals, it will lead to prolonged disputes between them, causing delays in the passage of the supplementary budget."
Additionally, he urged for an apology regarding earlier remarks by Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party, who said that three constitutional justices should not follow the path of the 'Eulsa Five Traitors.'
Kweon emphasized, "The term 'Eulsa Five Traitors' is blasphemy against the Constitutional Court," adding, "A constitutional justice who moves according to the Democratic Party's will is a freedom fighter, and if one has thoughts opposing the Democratic Party's will, the very term 'Eulsa Five Traitors' is an insult, threat, and intimidation against the justices of the Constitutional Court."
"Candidate Ma Eun-hyeok has already espoused Marxism-Leninism during his college years, advocating for revolution along the lines of North Korea," he added, stating he hopes for the withdrawal of Ma's appointment as a constitutional justice.
