The National Assembly's Public Officials Ethics Committee revealed on the 27th that the 2025 regular asset list of members of the National Assembly includes numerous high-value artworks as well as golf and health club memberships.
Lee Sang-sik, a member of the Democratic Party, reported a total of 9 pieces of paintings and crafts, including works by artist Lee U-hwan, held under the name of his spouse (worth 1.5 billion won). Ko Dong-jin, a member of the People Power Party, reported 4 pieces of Western paintings valued at a total of 64.2 million won under his and his spouse's names.
Lee Sang-sik also held diamonds (worth 150 million won) and sapphires (worth 50 million won) under his spouse’s name. Kim Nam-hee, a member of the same party, reported a diamond ring (worth 10 million won) and a diamond necklace (worth 7 million won) owned by himself.
There were also members who owned significant amounts of gold. Kim Jang-gyeom from the People Power Party held 93 grams of 24k gold (worth 12.22 million won), and Lim I-ja, also from the same party, owned 130 grams of 24k gold (worth 10.79 million won). Kim Jae-won, a member of the Justice Party, stated that he owns 150 grams of 24k gold (worth 21.08 million won).
Yoon Sang-hyun from the People Power Party reported golf and health club memberships valued at 472 million won across a total of 4 locations under his and his spouse's names. Other members from the same party, including Park Deok-heum (684 million won), Kwon Young-se (232 million won), and Ahn Sang-hoon (162 million won), also reported possessing memberships worth billions. From the Democratic Party, Yoo Dong-soo reported having golf memberships worth 120 million won.
There were members who owned luxury foreign cars. Ko Dong-jin from the People Power Party owns a 2021 Ferrari (worth 221.44 million won), while Kang Yu-jeong from the Democratic Party owns a 2023 Porsche Cayenne Coupe (worth 124.45 million won).
There were members who reported their holdings in virtual assets. Due to a legal revision, as of December last year, public officials of grade 4 or above must specifically indicate the type and quantity of virtual assets. Those whose assets disclosure falls under grade 1 or higher must include the process of asset formation regarding virtual assets and a year’s worth of transaction history.
Park Soo-min from the People Power Party reported one Hunminjeongeumhaeryeobon NFT (non-fungible token) valued at 100 million won. Kim Yong-min from the Democratic Party reported that their spouse owns 29.6 million won worth of Bitcoin.
There were also asset disclosures reflecting professional characteristics prior to being elected as members of the National Assembly. Kim Jae-won, a member of the Justice Party who performed as a singer under the name 'Lia', reported a total of 60 songs, including the representative song 'Tears', as copyright assets. Park Sung-jun, a member of the Democratic Party who has a background as a broadcaster, reported two copyright assets, including 'The Dignity of Political Language' and 'Political Speech'.
Additionally, Kwon Young-se, chairman of the emergency committee of the People Power Party, reported three harps owned by his spouse valued at a total of 130 million won, while Bae Jun-young from the same party reported his eldest daughter's cello at 15 million won.
